Project Introduction

Designed as both contemporary wall art and wearable art, the collection celebrates contrast, creativity, and the idea that sometimes less colour creates an even stronger statement.

the challenge

This collection explores the power of simplicity through bold black and white compositions inspired by pop art, street culture, and contemporary digital collage. By reducing each artwork to its essential elements, the focus shifts to strong graphic shapes, expressive typography, layered textures, and carefully considered details. Creating impactful artwork using only black, white, and a single accent colour is a challenge in itself. Without relying on vibrant palettes, every composition has to communicate through contrast, balance, texture, and emotion. The goal was to strip each piece back to its essentials while still creating artwork that feels bold, modern, and instantly recognisable.

My solution

By combining digital collage techniques with halftone textures, graffiti-inspired brushstrokes, typography, and carefully placed colour accents, each artwork developed its own unique identity. The monochrome palette became a strength rather than a limitation, allowing every detail to stand out while creating a clean, contemporary pop art aesthetic.
